TriHacks was a virtual hackathon that took place on October 7–9th, 2022. The event was aimed at helping beginner hackers — specifically young developers between 13 and 22 — develop their skills and, providing opportunities for them to learn from experts, who provided workshops, talks, and more. Students were encouraged to create projects that could produce innovative solutions for the real world, focusing on addressing the challenge statement, which focused on Supply chain issues. Projects were judged based on creativity, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Earth Hacks provided a workshop activity called “What Could Go Wrong?”, which encourages participants to consider the environmental and ethical aspects of big tech. Over 130 participants signed up and a total of 12 projects were submitted. Projects included “ZipShip”, which streamlines the shipping process for users, and a Volunteer App to connect people with local volunteering opportunities.
